Us looking semi-posh at wedding
For those of you wondering how your daily moment of Amanda countdown was going to end…
It ends like this, in a hotel, about to go to a wedding, with Amanda practicing the song she’s going to play them.
And it ends with me seeing my wife for the first time in a hundred days. It was awkward, a bit tentative, yesterday. And today it’s really easy and comfortable.

Amanda has landed in America. She’s in Dallas. She was very sleepy when we spoke.
Your moment of Amanda for today: the morning of my 50th birthday I walked from a hat shop (wearing the birthday hat she had just bought me) to Jackson Square, where I thought I was meeting Amanda for tea…
And instead, I found myself getting married to a statue.

As I was scrolling down my dashboard, as I always do, I tumbled upon this photo and it made me smile. It was not an “aww” kind of smile either, it was one that came from the centre of my heart, because it spoke to my heart; it told me behold, the happiness portrayed in this caption is beyond words. It is enchanted, enshrined happiness that you do not have the luxury to see nor experience everyday. And so I could not help but try recapture it in a way it made me feel like I would share the intense joy to…well, anyone who saw it, really.
Thank you for the inspiration, Neil and Amanda. Your happiness is truly heartfelt :) I hope you like it if and when you get to see this.

Right now I miss the shit out of her. I will not see her for another 59 days, not that I’m counting or anything. But she has an album to make, and I have stuff to write.
Also, my favourite of the photos is the one of me holding up my Craig Ferguson show $50.
I wonder if my hair will look like that when it grows back.
And I am on Tumblr because I will have a favour to ask VERY SOON of anyone in Melbourne (the one in Australia). So if you’re in Melbourne, expect a Tumblr post asking for a favour, today or tomorrow…
